 ADJUSTABLE AUTOTRANSFORMER (VARIAC)

Variations produced by winding enameled copper wire wrapped with wire on top of a toroidal sheet core are usually used to obtain a variable AC voltage source from a constant AC voltage source. A movable carbon brush rotates on the windings from 0 to 330°, forming variable decelerations. Control can be achieved manually or by servo motor.

ADVANTAGES

1- As the type strength decreases, the magnetic core cross section becomes smaller, less sheet metal is used, and therefore the iron losses are reduced.

2- Because a single winding is used, less copper is used and copper losses are reduced.

3- The percentage of regulation is better than that of 2-winding transformers because leakage currents are less.

4- If desired, various voltages can be easily obtained by removing many ends out.

5- It is lighter, more economical and more efficient because fewer materials are used. All variac models are at ENERJITEM
